Sorstis Restaurante

Mediterranean and Italian cooking from a mesquite oven, downtown on Revolución and Constitución

Sorstis is a restaurant in the centre of La Paz, on the corner of Revolución de 1910 and Constitución. It is run by the same family restaurant group as Bismarkcito on the Malecón and the original Bismark downtown, but the cooking here is Mediterranean and Italian rather than Baja seafood. There is outdoor seating, a private dining room for groups, and a bar known for its cocktails.

Many dishes come out of a mesquite oven. The menu runs from oysters (natural or Rockefeller), fish carpaccio and a board of cold cuts and cheeses, to house-made pastas such as ravioli, malloreddus gnocchi and a linguine with shellfish from the Sea of Cortez, and on to grilled beef fillet, prime rib eye, lamb chops, duck breast and Baja abalone. There is wine to go with it.

It opens at 2 PM from Monday to Saturday and stays open until 11 PM Monday to Thursday and until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays it is open until 10 PM. It is one of the more special-occasion places in the centre, so booking ahead is a good idea on weekends.
