NEMI
Contemporary Mexican cooking by chef Alejandro Villagómez, recommended by the Michelin Guide
NEMI is a contemporary Mexican restaurant on Calle Francisco I. Madero in the centre of La Paz, run by chef Alejandro Villagómez. It cooks with produce from Mexico's fields and seas, and its menu changes often. Villagómez also leads the kitchens at Quemadero, OSO and Azotea.
In 2026 the Michelin Guide added NEMI to its recommended restaurants in Mexico. It is the only restaurant in La Paz in that selection; the other Baja California Sur picks are in Todos Santos and Los Cabos.
It is open for dinner only, from 6 to 10 PM Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays. Reservations are required, through OpenTable or by phone. This is a special-occasion price point: diners on Google put it at MX$1,000 or more per person. There are vegan options, and the bar is known for its cocktails.
