Aramburo Supermarkets (now Chedraui)

Aramburo was a cornerstone of La Paz grocery shopping for decades — a locally rooted chain with multiple locations across the city, known for a more personal feel than the big-box national chains. For longtime La Paz residents and expats, Aramburo was the neighborhood supermarket of choice for everyday shopping.

Now Chedraui: Chedraui, one of Mexico's largest supermarket groups, acquired Aramburo in early 2025, and the Aramburo stores have since transitioned to the Chedraui brand.

The two downtown Aramburo stores now operate as Chedraui. The store at Isabel la Católica 1915, across from the Palacio de Gobierno, is now Chedraui Centro, a regular Chedraui supermarket.
