Soriana Híper Punto La Paz (formerly MEGA Comercial)

This store was MEGA Comercial Mexicana (Sucursal La Paz, Suc. 378). Soriana bought Comercial Mexicana's stores in 2015–16, and it now trades as Soriana Híper Punto La Paz. It is the supermarket in Mi Plaza La Paz, a plaza also known as Plaza Punto La Paz, on the Calzada Mariano Abasolo side. Locals rate it as consistently stocked and noticeably less crowded than the Walmart on Forjadores. Departments include full grocery and produce, butcher (carnicería), bakery (panadería), pharmacy, and household goods, along with a selection of imported and specialty items. For expats and visitors who find Walmart overwhelming or busy, it is a reliable alternative with good stock levels and easier parking on off-peak hours.

One note on parking: the plaza's lot has been noted by regulars as having a rough surface on arrival — take it slowly when entering. "Julio Regalado", the July sale that came from Comercial Mexicana, now runs in Soriana stores and brings discounts across many categories.
