Café Exquisito
La Paz's own café-bakery chain since 2001 — seven branches, from downtown Allende to the airport
Café Exquisito is a La Paz coffee and bakery chain, and one of the best-known names in the city's coffee scene. It started at the end of 2001 as a bakery, coffee and gift shop and has grown to seven branches: downtown on Calle Allende, in Indeco, Bellavista and on Boulevard Colosio, out at El Centenario, and two inside the airport.
The menu is the same at every branch: coffee drinks made with coffee the company roasts and grinds itself, pastries, cakes and bread from its own bakery, and gifts. Bags of its roasted and ground coffee are sold to take home, and the airport branches make it the last La Paz coffee before a flight.
Most branches open early and stay open late, until 10 or 11 at night. The downtown Allende branch, between Revolución and Serdán, is the easiest for visitors staying in the Centro.

Two family trades in one café
Exquisito began at the end of 2001, when two partners pooled their savings to open something new for La Paz: a bakery, coffee and gift shop in one. One brought a family tradition of fine pastry-making; the other ran a company that roasted and sold ground coffee.
That pairing is still the menu: its own coffee, roasted and ground, alongside its own baking. The company dates its later branches from 2005, when the Centenario café opened, to 2010; two of them, opened in 2006 and 2007, are inside La Paz's airport.
